About Beethoven
It is probably true to say that today his music is the most frequently performed of any composer's. When he died, his funeral at Währing was a nat. Beethoven's music may have sometimes been misunderstood in his lifetime but it was never neglected.

Johannes Brahms
1833 - April 3, 1897) was a German composer of classical music. Brahms was considered by many to be the "successor" to Beethoven, and his first symphony was described by Hans von Bülow as "Beethoven's tenth symphony" (the nickname is still used). Charles Rosen
(born May 5, 1927) is an American pianist and music theorist. Rosen has carried out a double career. As a virtuoso pianist he has appeared in numerous recitals and orchestral engagements around the world, and has recorded a number of 20th century works at the invitation of their composers, including works by Igor Stravinsky, Elliott Carter, and Pierre Boulez. Rosen is also the author of many widely admired books about music. Perhaps his most famous work is The Classical Style (2nd ed., 1997, New York: Norton), which analyzes the nature and evolution of the high classical style as it was developed by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. Sonata Forms (2nd ed., 1988, New York: Norton) is in some ways a follow-up on The Classical Style: it is

Electric Light Orchestra
Light Orchestra (ELO) was a successful rock music group from the 1970s and 1980s. The band, formed by Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne, and Bev Bevan in 1971 (the remaining members of The Move), used cellos and violins to give their music a "classical" sound. Roy Wood left ELO shortly after the release of their eponymously-titled first album (which produced the UK hit "10538 Overture") and Jeff Lynne stepped up to lead the band. (The first album was released with the mistaken title of No Answer in the USA). The band went through a lineup change (as Wood took some musicians with him to form Wizzard), including a new keyboardist, Richard Tandy, and released ELO II in 1973, from which came their first U.S. Top 40 hit, "Roll Over Beethoven". They also

Nocturne
intended for performance at night, much like a serenade. In its more familiar form as a single-movement character piece usually written for solo piano, the nocturne was cultivated primarily in the 19th century. The first nocturnes to be written as such were by John Field, but the most famous exponent of the form was Frederic Chopin, who wrote 21 of them. Later composers to write nocturnes for the piano include Gabriel Fauré and Erik Satie. Other examples of nocturnes include the one for orchestra from Felix Mendelssohn's incidental music for A Midsummer Night's Dream and the set of three for orchestra and female choir by Claude Debussy (who also wrote one for solo piano). The first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata has also been considered a nocturne (certainly, Ludwig
