About Bach
A veritable bible for musicians, the two books of The Well-Tempered Klavier (includes the Prelude and Fugue No.1 in C and Prelude and Fugue No.17 in Ab from Book 1, and the Prelude and Fugue No.13 in F# from Book 2) twice present preludes and fugues of every imaginable type in every key. It has been observed that Bach's melodies are harmonically conceived and his harmonies melodically conceived. From Froberger, a German harpsichordist who lived in France, he assimilated the French keyboard style.

Bach in time (Peoria Journal Star)
PEORIA - It was 4 p.m. Wednesday and Mr. Bach still hadn't made an appearance. "He's hard to keep track of - I think we're going to have to look for him," said Trinity Lutheran's Marie Dicke, who was serving as a guide of sorts for "Hey Kids!

“Music in Time,” Spoleto Festival USA’s 15-year-old series of contemporary classical music, is no doubt ambitious. But founder John Kennedy has said that while the series shakes up listeners, it’s more than 12-tone music and nonstop cacophony. It’s accessible. It’s beautiful. It’s emotional.

NewsFactor Network - Personal Technology - Gaming's Clash of the Titans
Thanks to certified hits like Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto, the PS2 has since outsold Xbox by 4-1. This time around, Xbox honcho Robbie Bach argues that, because of Microsoft's lead, developers are likely to optimize their games first for the Xbox 360. "That's a very good thing, in my book," Bach said in an interview. Maybe not. Remember Sega's Dreamcast? That company had a year's lead on the PS2, but Sony's then-superior technology clobbered Dreamcast's sales. Researcher IDC games analyst Schelley Olhava says if Sony delivers on all the technology it showcased during its news conference, Microsoft could find itself in a similar fix.

Camille Saint-Saëns
began composing. At ten years of age he gave public recitals of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart. At the age of sixteen, he wrote his first symphony. In 1871 he co-founded the Société Nationale de Musique. He wrote dramatic works, including four symphonic poems, and 13 operas, of which Samson et Dalila and the symphonic poem Danse Macabre are among his most famous. In all, he composed over three hundred works and was the first major composer to write music specifically for the cinema. In 1875, Saint-Saëns married Marie Truffot and fathered two children who died within six weeks of each other in 1881. Saint-Saëns left his wife the same year. The two never divorced, but lived the rest of their lives apart from one another. It has been suggested that Saint-Saëns

Swedish Mozart. He started his education in Buchen am Odenwald, later at the Jesuit Gymnasium and Music Seminar at Mannheim, then proceeded to study law in Mainz, Erfurt, where he was taught by Peter Weimar and C.P.E. Bach, and Göttingen, where he was part of the writer's group Göttingen Hainbund and wrote a book of poetry, Versuch von Schäfersgedichte, a tragedy, Tolon, as well as music, including the oratorios Die Geburt Jesu and Der Tod Jesu, and a musical treatise. At the Swedish Court In 1778 Kraus moved to Stockholm, Sweden, on the suggestion of his friend Carl Stridsberg. His financial situation there was bad at first. His opera Azire was rejected by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, but the Academy decided to give him a second chance. King Gustav

to her by Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, Johann Sebastian Bach, Rachmaninov, Franz Schubert, Edvard Grieg, Claude Debussy, Chopin, Schumann and Ludwig Beethoven. Mrs Brown had no musical training when she was a child aside from a few piano lessons. Someone once claimed that maybe she had advanced musical training but then forgot it in a bad case of amnesia. This claim was said to be preposterous by the Brown's family doctor. Rosemary claims that those few piano lessons were the only musical training she has had. Mrs Brown claimed that famous composers dictated work to her. In 1969 she was put to a test. She was put in front of a piano by British Broadcasting Company and waited for Liszt to appear. He came and dictated to her a piece that
