About Rodgers and Hammerstein
Laurey and Curly get married, and everyone sings the song "Oklahoma," about Oklahoma’s becoming a state. When Rodgers worked with Hart, he wrote the music first, and then Hart wrote the lyrics. The story of Oklahoma! is about a young woman, Laurey, living in the Oklahoma Territory in the early 1900s.
