About Rodgers and Hammerstein
It has the most serious plot of any Rodgers and Hammerstein show because it confronts both war and racism. Comic characters—Laurey’s friend Ado Annie and her boyfriend, Will Parker—lighten things up a bit. The beautiful song "Edelweiss" from The Sound of Music was the last song Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote together.

Oklahoma!
the first musical play created by composer Richard Rodgers and writer Oscar Hammerstein. The presentation marked a revolution in musical drama. It was the first time a play with music told a story of emotional depth and psychological complexity, rather than simply using the story as a clothesline to hang the songs on.
