Andrew Lloyd Webber honoured in Hungary (RTÉ News)
Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has been presented with one of Hungary's highest honours by the country's Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany. Lloyd Webber was presented with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit yesterday in Budapest, where his new musical 'The Beautiful Game' is opening.
The Phantom of the Opera (1986 musical)
Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. It was written in 1986 by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber specifically for the voice of his then wife, singer Sarah Brightman. It was produced by Cameron Mackintosh and opened at Her Majesty's Theatre in September of 1986, where it still runs today. The show was taken to Broadway, where it is still running today, and many other cities. A film version is to be released in December of 2004. Henry Jr. became pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church at Oldwick, New Jersey. Several of Henry and Anna's daughters also deserve mention. Elizabeth was married to General Francis Swaine, and Sarah to Congressman Mathias Richards. Eve married Emmanuel Shulze, and their son John Andrew Schulze became Governor of Pennsylvania. Henry died on October 7th, 1787 at his home in Trappe.
